The vast Brazilian Pantanal is one of the greatest wetlands anywhere on earth, where incredible numbers of water birds gather around the region's winding waterways. This easy and relaxed tour is designeded to see the wealth of wildlife on offer here. Enjoy huge Jabiru wading in the shallow marshes, to families of Southern Screamers, Sunbitterns, and several species of heron and ibis. Parrots and macaws brighten the tree tops, while the truly spectacular Hyacinth Macaw, the largest parrot in the world is a sight to behold. The sheer number of birds is incredible and many of these offer close views which make for great photography.

A wide variety of tropical animals can be seen here like the much sought-after Jaguar. We also have chances to see Giant Anteater, Capybara, Brazilian Tapir, Giant River Otters and, with luck, an Anaconda or the rare Maned Wolf. The Chapada dos Guimaraes National Park will provide a complete contrast, with its dry scrub, huge waterfalls, cerrado, and riverine forest, which are home to some of Brazil’s very special birds, and a cross-selection of neotropic families including hummingbirds, manakins, antbirds, motmots, tinamous and tanagers. We have a very special extension to the fabulous Jardim de Amazonia, a tropical lodge that supports a whole range of species beyond our main tour and this is also the only place in the world to see the newly discovered Cone-billed Tanager.
