Oman is one of the new must visit destinations for birders. Clean and safe, Oman's varied habitats offer access to specialties like Yellow Bittern, Steppe Eagle, Eastern Imperial and Greater Spotted Eagle, Arabian Golden-winged Grosbeak, Grey Hypocolius, Arabian Partridge, Pallas's Gull, Arabian Scops-owl, Collared Kingfisher, Black-crowned Sparrow Lark, Arabian Warbler, Menetries's Warbler, Arabian Sunbird, and so much more.

The tour is based in a beautiful beachside accommodation on the edge of Salalah for 9 nights. From here, there is access to a great variety of habitats from arid desert to oases full of life. Streams, arable fields, wetlands, estuaries and dry scrub habitats offer many local and range restricted birds, plus a multitude of migrants.

A pelagic trip will offer the chance to look for Persian Shearwaters, Jouanin’s Petrel, Masked Booby, Red-necked Phalaropes and perhaps a few surprises. There are owls to look for as well as some very special dragonflies, butterflies and reptiles.

An extension from the capital Muscat offers Arabian Green Bee-eater, Indian Roller, Hume’s and Red-tailed Wheatears, Delicate Prinia, the superb Pallas’s Gull, plus the potential to find the rare Omani Owl. More>
